M.A., LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 15 years of experience working with children and families. I am licensed in VA and in DC, and am currently accepting clients requiring assistance with any of the following challenges:

Families and children (up to age 15): ADHD and neurodiversity, Anxiety, Attachment, Divorce, Emotion regulation, Family transitions, Mood disorders, Parent-child relationship difficulties, Parent support and guidance, Self-esteem and self-confidence, Sibling conflict.

Adult Specialty: Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs)

After working for FCT in the northern Virginia area since 2016, I am currently based in London, UK and available to provide telehealth services, including flexible hours before school/work.

With children and families, my approach includes a combination of psychoeducation, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness interventions, and play-based/expressive interventions that can be adapted virtually. When working with parents and caregivers directly, I focus on identifying strategies to increase connection, cooperation, and communication. I am also influenced by the latest neuroscience research and incorporate those evidence-based approaches to attachment and emotion regulation. As a parent, I appreciate that making changes can be overwhelming. I will work with you to identify reasonable goals and generate your own coping strategies to utilize in difficult moments.

I have received training from Postpartum Support International (PSI) to assist expectant and new mothers in dealing with stressors related to pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. If you feel you are struggling with more than the “baby blues”- such as increasing anxiety (racing or intrusive thoughts, difficulty sleeping, feeling scared/worried more often than not) or depression (difficulty completing daily tasks, feeling hopeless, difficulty connecting with baby) – please know, you are not alone, and help is out there. Together we will develop a plan to address self-care, social support, and mind-body attunement to help you feel more calm, confident, and hopeful overall.
