Hiya! I’m Amanda. I’m a Supervisee in Social work with a heart for connection and a practice rooted in empathy, curiosity, and creativity. I aim to cultivate a safe space where children, teens, and caregivers can explore their individuality, strengths, and challenges without judgment. In my years working with families, I’ve learned that healing happens when we feel seen and understood, and I approach therapy as a collaborative journey.
You are the expert of your own experience, and I am here to support your path toward growth and self-compassion. Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your family, I want you to know I see you, and I respect and appreciate what you bring to our space.
With a background spanning foster care, adoption, and community-based family therapy, I specialize in trauma recovery, attachment repair, and emotional regulation, focusing on children ages 3-12 and their families. My approach is humanistic, strength-based, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and neurodiversity-affirming, supporting children and caregivers in navigating complex emotions, processing difficult experiences, and rebuilding trust after adversity.
Rather than focusing on behavioral correction, I take a “behavior detective” approach. I help caregivers understand what lies beneath a child's actions, which is where real change happens. Behaviors are communication, and through therapy, we uncover their deeper needs. Our experiences affect more than just emotions; it shapes how we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. My approach honors this complexity, creating a safe, affirming space where healing happens through trust, presence, and deep understanding.
For Children:
Using Child-Centered Play Therapy, I create space for children to express themselves naturally - whether through play, sand tray therapy, expressive arts, or symbolic storytelling. These creative approaches allow children to process trauma, regain confidence, and develop self-awareness on their own terms. I meet children where they are, honoring their individual needs and capacity for growth.
For Caregivers:
Healing is not a solitary process; it is shaped within relationships, nurtured through attunement, and sustained by trust. I work closely with caregivers to strengthen attachment, co-regulate emotions, and build a deeper understanding of their child’s needs. Using attachment-based interventions, and trauma-focused approaches, I help families find relational safety and restore connection after difficult experiences.
Together, we will create a path toward healing, resilience, and authentic connection. Whether you’re seeking therapeutic support for your child, guidance as a caregiver, or simply a space where growth and discovery are embraced, I am here to help.
